Hacked my BOSSJACK

That's wild, looks promising. Do you plan to try and reuse the factory scales or make new ones? (I saw the shiv handle pic, but assume that's just temporary.)

The beauty of hockey tape, is that it's both temporary and permanent. Who knows what tomorrow will bring.

if you were to reinstall the factory scales, how would you pin it again? It looks good. I would love to do the same, but have no experience with Busse rivets

When I drill out tubes I like to go back with torx-- just a personal preference but I like to take off the handles sometimes.

Okay... That looks good. The fit looks like the size is close. Did you modify the hole size at all?

nope, stock....I don't have the bits to drill out INFI

But they sell flaring dies to press fit em back together if you want to go back with thru-tubes, not to Busse specs of several tons, however.

But not entirely sure Timmy's gonna even put handles back on it...he sometimes goes with the "minimalistic" approach.

I like the convex he's blended in.... and if that edge is like what he put on my SARsquatch it'll whittle frog hair!

I do like the minimal any and everything. It's got some hockey tape fattening the handle a bit. Same with my kz2. I'll get the edge finished up here shortly. It's a bit more time consuming to get a nice straight edge with no recurves on such a narrow blade profile.

Glad the squatch is still alive and kicking Petey 2.1

:nightmare: What did that poor Boss Jack do to you? In all seriousness, I personally really like how Boss Jack's scales feel in stock form, but I gotta give you credit for making it your blade and not being afraid to make it how you want it.

It made me realize that I couldn't sharpen all the way up to the talon hole, that's what. :D really though, I was inspired a bit from a sar5 I've had the luck to handle recently. i was gonna wrap the original handle in hockey tape for some extra grippiness, then remembered how awesome multiple layers of hockey tape felt. So. Here we are. Now I can sharpen the entire blade edge, and I've got a makeshift, squishy, grippy handle. Win win win.

She is being treated well. I have been working on a satin finish. I am doing by hand so it is taking awhile. I got one side pretty close to done and the other about 50%. I have really thought about putting it on the 2x72 but I am still not confident enough to place that blade on there. I might do some later polish on it. Fortunately I do have a VFD on the grinder so I can slow it down. We'll see. Kids are really digging it now too. The blade is very close to a brushed mirror looks and you hold it any slight angle its a mirror. So I am getting close. Thanks again, she has found a good home. I have a hard time sleeping because of a long story from a long time ago, when I get like that I set up and work on the blade. Wife often will pop her head in the door and give me that "What the heck you doing at this time" look lol.

P.s. how's the bwm treating you Ladams?

I take it was a choil less model right? What scales were on it?

but I gotta give you credit for making it your blade and not being afraid to make it how you want it.

x2 THT, I give you props to you for this as well. And with as many Busses as you've had your mitts on, I'm sure you've got a great idea what you like and what you don't.

I'm looking forward to these pics!
