This knife makes me feel like a teenager again! A Hackman Finland survival knife made for the Vietnam war. I did not get a sheath for it so if you have one extra please let me know!

Here's a video of the knife

I didn't know about this knife. Never saw one in Vietnam.

Was this knife the inspiration for the Rambo knife, or was there an earlier example of a hollow-handled knife with compass and sawback?

The Randall model 18 came out in 1963. I always thought it was the first? But I’ve seen references to earlier Marbles knives that had match safes in their handles. Also the Swedish 1896 bayonet has a hollow handle with a blade attached in a similar way.

First time I’ve seen a Hackman. Thanks for sharing. It’s really nice.

I never saw anything like that either. Then again, I was in the Marines, and it took a while for the newer cutting edge( (:) stuff to filter down to us.
