I was at the reservoir fishing, and I sat down on the gravel road to tie on a new lure. I had my Case 65 pattern Folding Hunter on my leg, open. It slipped off my leg - tip first into the gravel. Could be worse, but I am not working on restoring about 3/4" of the edge.

I did catch this Warmouth though. Never caught one of them before.

If it makes you feel better I used my knife earlier to open a new toy for my kid, and did not realize the “string” holding it to the box was metal tie!! 😡 I had to work out THREE dents in my blade! At least you have a nice memory- looks like beautiful countryside over there:)

Last Bass I caught was in Sabula, Iowa, around 1983, I think.
Caught "him" on a small (3 inch) Rapalla lure.
That Large Mouth was all of 1.5 inch! 🤯😳🤣🤣
Lure was twice "his" size. Feisty little devil "he" was.🤨
I've used bigger minnows back when I fished live bait. 🙄
(artificials last years - decades - longer ... provided you avoid hungry sunk trees.)

Yes. I tossed "him" back so "he" could grow up a bit.
(and hopefully not get et by a bigger fish.

I am always amazed at Bass (of all types) by their willingness to attack and swallow a lure much bigger than they are. Nature at work, hoping you get your knife edge back where you want it. Some battle scars on my equipment remind me of the things I was doing when it happened, so its not all bad. OH

Nothing wrong with some character in my book. I'd rather it have it on the handle than the edge though for sure.

Bass fishing is one of my passions, you often catch other species though including this Warmouth. I've never caught one before. I mostly target/catch Largemouth. With my largest being about 5 pounds.

Many fishermen use a line snipper or nail clippers when changing lures, I prefer to use my knife. It's a tad more dangerous (I've cut myself once changing lures), but it's a whole more rewarding to use a knife with some honest wear than it is to use your line snippers.
