I was standing in the kitchen about to open a plastic bag that had come in the mail. I reached for my knife, a para-2 on this evening, and thought to myself, "it's too much trouble to pull my knife out to slice this bag open, it's just plastic I'll just tear it open."

And then I thought to myself, "NO EFFING WAY! I spent 110 dollars on this knife plus another 180 dollars (low estimation) on sharpening supplies so that I can keep it sharp, I SHOULD BE LOOKING FOR THINGS TO CUT!!!"

Then I went on a rampage and sliced up every piece of scrap paper and cardboard I could find around the house.:D

I had the same idea once ,I want to tear open the bag and it would stretch and stretch but would never rip .I had no idea plastic bags could be so bothersome (as I have always used a knife to open things). I also look for things to cut and I still don`t think I use my knives enough:)

Good for you. I have done that a couple times myself: trying to tear or open something with my hands instead of using the knife in my pocket. Your Paramilitary 2 must have been appreciative after all that cutting.

When I was a kid, I could get into anything with just fingers, teeth and "safety" scissors. Those days are past. I just slash stuff with my SAK or stab with the Sebenza.

i thought that same thing once. needless to say later that night i had to make a paper run for my essay midterm

What are you, some kind of savage? Ripping and tearing at things with your nails and teeth is no way to act civilized! We are clever animals who have learned to use tools... so use them! ;)

Things are just so much more organized when cut properly with a knife. Bag of chips, new boxes, Eggo's wrapper (this morning).

A dude in my class the other day helped his lady friend shorten her straw by trying to rip it with his hands. By the time he got it RIPPED off, his hands were shaking so bad I thought he was going to knock the drink over. Not a single expression crossed his face that maybe a tool could have solved that issue. I wonder if she enjoyed her mangled strawed cola with someone else's fingers as a side item.
