The action on my large lefty regular Seb was starting to get a might immobile. I had added some grease and it only worked for a little while. Once the thing started emitting a grinding, scratchy noise, I knew if was time to go in there.
I never wanted to open it up because of now nicely CRK ties the lanyard. But this had to be opened. I prepared the desk to lay out the parts as they came away as these things don't come with instructions.
Holy cow, was there muck in there! I used denatured alchohol to clean all the parts and then set about putting it all together. That's where I ran into a snag that required disassembly again and putting it back together. The first time, the blade contacted the inside of one of the handle slabs. The tolerances are so tight, it was quite some work getting the pivot pin, it's cylindrical cover and the two washers aligned just right, pinching it together while adding the other backspacer stud and stuff. After all, I had greased up the washers and they were slippery. I learned to not tighten down the backspacer first, as this caused the pivot pin assembly to open a bit, causing one of the washers to slip out of place.
Anyway, the knife is all together and works just like new. Rock solid lock-up, centered blade and real smooth action. Now, about that lanyard ....
