Had my Sebenza about a month now, sharpened it and gave it a face lift today.

Couldn't be happier with this knife! I've carried it every day since I got it, used it just about everywhere, and loved every minute. The only gripe I had with mine was that it was pretty dull brand new but, it sharpened right up today, no problem. Edges tend to be kind of hit or miss with all production blades. Regardless, the edge was a very small issue in comparison to the overall quality of this knife. After I sharpened it, I polished the clip and front facing scale. I could make it shinier but, my goal was to get as close of a matching polish to the blade as possible, though not stonewashed. I really did like how the bead blasted Ti was wearing so I left the lock side alone. While it won't pick up the same gritty look as I keep carrying/using it, I really just wanted to try and make my first Sebenza "my own". I dig how it looks but I wouldn't be surprised if a few folks might think I've ruined it haha  ! Thanks for taking a look and I appreciate how much info you all share on the CRK sub forum. It makes getting to know your knife so easy:thumbup:

Matches your lighter pretty good, nice EDC pair!

I think you should go ahead and do the back scale and the inside of the lock bar where it can be seen through the cutout of the front scale now. That way they all match.

If it was my knife, I wouldn't have done anything to it. It really looked sweet the way it was. The front scale was only going to look better with more

character marks!!

I'm hoping as I continue to carry it, the lock side scale will wear all across, creating a nice contrast with the polish side! I also made sure not to over do it by polishing away the bead blasting in the CRK logo so to me, the different finish seen through the cutout is like a matching accent to the logo. Glad you like it, me too!

I hear ya but no fear, there's plenty of room in my pocket for a large plain jane !

I EDC outside of work (office) my small micarta Seb......in its sheath and only use it for light duty. Basically a safequeen in my pocket. You are giving me inspiration to forgo the sheath and use it like it was designed to be used.

Went over the edge again today and got it as polished as I could without my Sharpmaker that is still being held hostage by a friend of mine...Wasn't happy with how the edge came out originally. Now it is relatively pretty as well as shaving sharp (except for about the last 1/4" from the tip). Angle held at roughly 18 degrees using 600-1000 grit, old leather belt as a strop, and then 8000 grit micro mesh stropping to wrap up. I know, seems too crude to use on a CRK but I'm going to need the knife for a camping trip day after tomorrow. Was really scared I'd ruin the edge going freehanded after using a guided system for so long but everything turned out just fine :D

I like the snail trails. I am NOT a fan of scotchbrighted sebenzas. I had one once and it was super slippery in hand. Almost got cut badly several times. Even though there are snail trails, the blasted Ti is still grippy. Just not a fan, sorry.

Hey it's all good, you like what you like. I didn't polish the scale because I don't like wear, I just wanted something different! I fully intend on having a big plain Sebenza that will wear just like this one did. Plus, I still get the snail trails on the back side!

I'm glad I went with a "satin-ish" polish rather than super super shiny. It's been wearing in pretty good, even with the polished scale. I am however thinking I might want to get it reblasted by CRK when my other small Sebenza arrives.

Vapor, use it like it was designed to be used. I doubt you'll regret it. The Sebenza can take a lot. Takedown and cleaning are easy. Sharpen it up and see how long the edge lasts.

Life is too short for safe queens vaporstang!

Exactly

Isn't it great that we all like our Sebenza's a little different. Glad you love it and have made it yours!

Thanks Bill and it is cool that we can all appreciate our similar but different tastes! I must say though, I have come to find I prefer the factory blasted scales so I will be getting the spa treatment and not repolishing!

I hope I'm not being an ass and posting too much guys. I just enjoy hanging around here and communicating with other enthusiasts. Everyone's been so nice that I haven't noticed how much I've been running my big mouth:foot:

This thread made me want to super polish a plain so that the scales look like chrome! Not practical, but a one of a kind?

I like what you did to make the knife your own. Everyone's tastes are different. Titanium is so versatile when it comes to finishes. You can change it whenever you want to give yourself a 'new' to you knife.

Me, I chose to have blue hardware added to my Large Micarta to make it unique to me. I want your blue lanyard... Haha

Looks great with the blue hardware! I've never been a fan of the silver thumb stud and lanyard pin except for on the WC knives. Too plain imho. I don't know if I can really ship my Sebenza off for reblasting. 4-6 weeks isn't very long but it's long enough! I think I'll just anodize my front scale. It's already polished so it should only take a few minutes when my new power supply gets here! Can't decide between very dark bronze or blue...Hm...

It seems like ever since I got a Sebenza I can't get enough. I have another small Sebenza on the way and I just can't seem to stop playing around with this Sebenza's aesthetics. Anodizing (home) or reblasting (CRK) will be the last of it though and I have no intention to modify my incoming CF Damascus Small Seb.
