So today I was asked by my wife what I carry in my EDC bag. I told her some of the things I had in it and she also asked me if I had some things that she thought were important. I didn't have a single thing that she had mentioned and I also think that some of the items she mentioned would be a good idea to carry considering that we do have a new baby. So I wanted to post a couple before and after pictures of my EDC's.

So here is the before,

And here is the after,

As you can see there is a slight difference. I wanted to keep a few tools and other things. I think that being able to have something for cover and to start a fire are still important to have.

It's kinda hard to notice but there is a Becker in the second pic; it's a little Remora.
(Becker content covered ;)

I did the same thing about 15 years ago... put a small rubbermaid tub in every vehicle with many of the same things. Wet ones, diapers, destin are the top 3.... A little roll of duct tape helps when you tear the sticky tab thingy off of those expensive diapers:D

Yes ! I suggest adding a thermometer of the baby kind - digital , flexible , rectal . And some baby medication for fever .

Bottom line - you still need everything from your initial EDC, now you also need baby stuff. Expanding your kit to include others brings levels of complexity. My camping gear is pretty sparse. If the wife is coming along, I need a car or sherpa. The wife does not agree with the hammock and a bottle of whisky camp. Theme being, if momma ain't happy....

Nice. Less aimed at your own survival, more on the survival on your baby. I like it :)

That's right!

Baby wipes are awesome.

I won't lie I never go on vacation/camping without them.

Good idea.

Thanks fellas!

Diapers don't have that tape type sticky stuff on them anymore. It's more like micro velcro now.

The frog is a nice touch

Her favorite little toy right now.

Not as egoistic as before. Gotta remember the little one too

True.

You carrying all that in your jacket?
One word=Maxpedition

I have a messenger bag that my wife made for me when my son was little to use as a diaper bag. I'll have to take a pic of that.

I still have everything I need for my EDC, now though I only have one of most things I have in my EDC. You are right though; if momma ain't happy.......

now, you should examine your wife's bag, and add a few important bits of kit to it...

a good one to share is: a bottle of liquid benadryl...

also, some pepper or hot sauce. perhaps some grey poupon :} it's a matter of taste :)

i know someone that STARTED carrying a revolver with him. for his son's protection. didn't care about himself, but if one of those giant dogs in his neighborhood gets stupid. well.

Good idea. I should check what she carries and get her some important items in her bag.

Copy that, Fatboy Jumbo=Ultimate Tactical Dad bag. I carry pretty much the same deal plus an instant ice pack and some antihistamine.

I'll look at that bag, and the ice pack and antihistamine are a good idea.
