Had to delete a post. Sorry.

I just deleted a post which I personally viewed as badmouthing an individual. That is one of the rules of the forum. No badmouthing of people or products. There are other forums where these kind of posts are acceptable. Not here.

You did the right thing, esteemed Uncle. No need to say sorry. I saw that post before it was removed.
The poster has had his posting privileges removed by the admin.
A shame that a man with so much valuable experience could not be a little more temperate in his words.

I believe it is a sad day when a post must be removed. You did what needed to be done Uncle Bill! Thank you.

Sometimes a "tough" action is one of compassion. I have mixed feelings about all that has transpired. We can feel for someone on a personal level but in any "society" there are rules of conduct, without which things break down...

It was inevitable, I'm afraid. Not your fault at all.

I have more reason to respect the Colonel than most; he provided some contructive criticism earlier in the year that may be a major factor in my winning this case. I'll post details once it's over. However, his treatment of Liz was simply...beyond. Comments about killing gays over in politics, references to killing "gooks" on tactical, frequent references to violence out of all proportion to the thread in question...it added up.

Bad situation. I don't think he meant harm but...sigh.

I posted a thread *The Holiday "Fight Season" is Here* on blade discussion forum. Too late.

Between Thanksgiving and New Years EVERY night is a full moon.

I know your decision to delete that post brought you pain. In the past, your free speech stand on this forum was tested time and again IMHO. You have respect for all forum members, including that person.
Frankly I don't remember you ever deleting before. You, Spark and others have bent over backwards. Sadly, your patience was not paid back in kind.
Nameste, Bill

Pakcik Bill.
Alhamdu-li-(A)llaah! You deleted that post before everybody read it! I agree with you ... otherwise some of us might be emosionally affected by that post! NEPAL HO!

Kaka,

You did what was necessary. In any forum, badmouthing, namecalling etc only ruins it for the rest of the community. As we say in Punjabi, Sarbhat Ka Bhalla ( Peace to All)

I think that is the first post or maybe second that I have deleted out of about 15,000. Because of my almost zealous belief in free speech it was not an easy thing to do. Thank you for your support.

I knew that the poster was rather opinionated, and I saw the deleted thread, but I never expected the measures taken would go this far. Bill, it is comforting to know that even as for free speech as you are, you will act if it ever gets out of hand.

Uncle Bill,
Your fairness and tolerance are worthy of respect. This forum has a sense of brotherhood not found in many places, especially considering the wide range of religions, ages, and backgrounds. If only the rest of the world could follow this example...

On a lighter note - per our conversation last night our many pounds of "tasty mountain oysters" would you like for me to ship to you?

"Of course I didn't know any better! Do you think I would have ended up like this on purpose?"

It's moderated forum, and you did what you thought was right, enough said.
There's a forum here on Bladeforums, I believe it's called the good, bad, & ugly??, where people can go & express their disatifaction with products.

Uncle Bill,

I did not read the forum but I support your decision wholeheartedly. The fact that you are still agonizing over it shows that you gave this decision much thought and consideration. You did what you had to, and I know that it is bothering you, but the fact that you did it increases my respect and admiration for you even more.
