Okay, I am being a bit melodramatic, but I really could seem to rest without adding the BK to the family. I intend this to be a knife to be used for cleaning game, processing meat and a general kitchen/utility knife.

Once I got it home I reprofiled the edge, put a finishing edge on it and put it to work making a meal of venison and vegetables. Is it a good slicer? My veggies and finger say yes (yep, drew first blood). The little lady was quick to claim ownership of this one so my time with the BK5 may be brief. Another one...knocking it outta the park Ethan!

 You can't not have a BK5 :D

They're awesome! Congrats on the new knife!

I just got the BK9 and it made me realize how much I love the 5, I feel the same about the 15. So glad I got then when discoed.

Light weight beauties!

Everytime I see a thread like this, I feel a terribly strong urge to buy another one before they're gone. I mean, I don't have but just the one, although I have three 15s. Must get another 5.

You can't not have more than one BK5...

Congrats on the new steel Yellow!

Are the 15s going away too? I may as well get one. I see people sure do love them.

Yes, they surely do! Grab one while you can...seems they get more scarce every day and more pricey!

Absolutely love my BK5. Food darned near processes itself at the mere mention of bringing it out!

Beyond that, it is just such a useful and efficient blade shape. It does so much that knife could reasonably be expected to do so well.

The BK5 and its little cousin the BK15 are among my favorites.

Congrats on the finger! A knife really isn't yours until you cut yourself with it. Tell that to the wife, and then tell her she'll have to wait until hers gets there, this one is YOURS!!

When I last cooked a turkey on my smoker, (that is the only way I have done them so far), I thought it would be a fine job for the 5. Nope, the 15 handled it just fine. When I dressed out a 20 pound Yellowtail, the 15 handled that, I didn't even bother the 5. The BK5 is a big game slayer, it's out of my middle weight league. My compliments on your taste in knives!

Still looking for a worthy adversary. :o
