Hi Folks.
Never thought I'd ever make use of it, but had to use the bail out bag today. Drove into work as normal this morning, there was light snow on the roads. Mid morning, the snow started to fall heavily, and by 2.00pm, all staff were advised to go home. To cut a long story short, it appears all the offices and shops were doing the same, the roads were gridlocked, and a lot of vehicles were having problems gripping the roads.
I am fortunate in that I live just over 3 miles away. I just had my normal office wear on, so I was glad my BOB contained a North Face Gore Tex waterproof jacket and waterproof hiking boots. I was glad of the boots as the pavements were very slippy. Kept my feet perfectly dry and toasty too.
Just made it home now. It was the right decision to walk home instead of drive. All the way home was just a continuous line of cars stuggling along. I was actually walking faster.
