Well, I picked this Rodent Waki up at the last show, and it had the Bama clay on the blade.. every time I withdrew it from the cardboard sheath, it sounded like sand paper being rubbed.. so, here it is smoother and now no more sound. I don't think I'm going to sand it any more as I'm going to use this thing this summer in the boonies. "might do a walmart spray paint can of OD on the blade for the heck of it" Anyways, when I stripped it I wish I would have left the dark gray look on it instead of doing any sanding. It really did look good..
On the Boss street, I only stripped the black paint off and left the dark gray look.. I think it actually looks GOOD this way; I call it Tactical gray.. This could be an option from busse??. it is now my Kitchen blade :)

They do look good, how much sand paper did thay take?

Once again...Raw INFI looks awesome
I would love to have the option of uncoated raw INFI on a purchase from BC.
Nice work

Didn't someone post a pic of a stripped Waki that looked like it had a hamon? I'm not seeing it on yours, fbusmc.

They both look nice, but your right the boss street looks pretty cool finished like that. It kind of gives it an old look to it.:thumbup:

the waki had some slight sanding, although I really wish I had left the original black/gray look it had when it was first stripped. the boss street blade is only stripped with no sanding at all, and it looks great!

That makes perfect sense that a bead blast would bring out the differential heat treat line, since the two areas of metal now have different hardness.

Look great on both. You will have to give a report on how the sr101 holds up corrosion wise. You should give it a patterned mustard Patina!

Have to take some new pics of the WAki, just did it up in OD Green over my stripped job, may not hold up like busse paint but it looks good for right now

Somewhere, MustardMan is crying.....

MM didn't care for the "second generation" Bama Clay -- I don't like it as well myself, although I bought 8 knives coated with it at the last Knob Creek. The new Bama Clay has a very rough finish; like sandpaper or shark skin. Earlier Bama Clay-finished knives felt like the Moss coating; dimpled, but smooth.

With all due respect guys, doesn't the black finish help protect the blade from the elements?
