Here are a couple of links that might help. I don’t know really anything about these sellers other than Beaver Tooth is in Tennessee, as am I. Of interest, Link handles made by Seymour was Tennessee company also. You could also check House Handle out of Missouri.

Thanks Swede! I did look at the on line handles, but thought some of you might have a preference. I have a large hewing axe of my buddies that's in nice shape and will fix it up for him. I thought a 36" haft was too long, but I guess I can saw it off if needed. I'll order the Beaver-tooth one of these days if the eye is the same. Thanks again, Dog

You bet Old Dog. Yep, I think you might want to trim a handle down. Check out the post on "Opinions on this broad axe" where there is discussion about handle length.

Hey All,

It has been a bit since I've posted. I am still using axes and have always wanted to hew timbers. I found this unknown maker broad axe and wanted to see if anyone would offer guidance on its possible suitability as a user. It looks to have a homemade handle which would need work plus the head is obviously in need of a lot of cleanup. The bit is about 11 inches and the flat side does not have serious pitting though hard to tell from the pics. I have looked it over and there seems to quite a bit of what I think is hard steel left although I could not see the line where it changes...
