Success at last. Hair whittling sharp. I used a Chicago cutlery carbon steel boning knife. Stropped it with a shiny magazine cover. A trick I learned here. I feel I have reached the Holy grail of knife sharpening. My camera doesnt have a marco setting , but it is still visible.

First , I used a diamond stone to create a burr on one side then the other. I attached the diamond stone to ceramic sticks with rubberbands to ensure that the correct angle is used. I cant freehand very well.

Then I used the coarse and fine ceramic rods until I could not get the knife any sharper. Next I stropped the knife on a shiny magazine cover {Bassmaster to be exact}a couple of hundred times. I held the magazine tight to the rods also. Thats it .

The holy grail to some. ;) You can even expand your horizons by trying some other sharpness demonstrations out there that you might find are even harder to accomplish!
