Does anyone else here have a HAK or 2? I think some of you might find them interesting and OOOOOOOh so useful, HAK= "HideAway Knife, the brain child of one interesting blade chick, who goes by " Front Sight", "Edged Angel" check it out, do a search for HAK knives. They are wayyyy cool! stay safe mjmcdowell

I have two inbound and another on order . Can't wait to get my grubbies on one .

Front Sight is an active member here, and numerous others have posted about the knives, too. Run a search....

Strider Hybrid HAK
Anderson Straight Hak
Brock Midnight Claw

Next in line is a Joe Blum ground Talon in one of his wild coatings.

It is all Front Sight's fault!

Mt. Airy?

You know Joe Morel? He was my best man!

The HAKs rock. I have some of her attachment gear.

Hey there MJM,

Glad you like your HideAways.

Shurock,

I am designing 2 other cool carry options. Just saw the 2'nd prototype of the one that will be available soonest, and was really thrilled.

Now to figure out how to get it manufactured reliably and with consistently good quality. That's always the difficult part. Ideas are easy to have. Great execution is the tough part.

Thanks.

I will keep an eye out for them.

I have been using 4 of your pin attachments for my Nealy Kinzahl on the inside pocket of my suits. Very stealthy. Love it when I have to go into the hood.

I just got a utility HAK. This could be a lot of fun. For now, I'm just wearing it as a necker while I play with the blade itself. That's not so stealthy, though, because too many people around here know what a bead chain around my neck means. :) Next step is to figure out a couple of other carry options.

I can see where the straight is a good first model. I liked the looks of the claw, but now that I have the straight, I'm not so sure I need it. The straight does slashing real well. The curvy looks better to me all the time.

Too many choices.

Very cool knives.

Just for reference for those who haven't seen them yet

Just got mine..I used to wear a cross around my neck. Faith is a wonderful thing, but I'm sure God would agree, a little tactical preparedness doesn't hurt.

Jesus said that if you do not own a sword, you should sell your very clothes to purchase one.

He was/is tactically minded.

That is one sweet HP. Those just seem to melt in my hand.

Kudos to HAK for coming out with a user grade model that is more accessible to the public at large.

I surely do love mine! The curvy combines the best qualities of several different blade shapes. It is versatile for utility and extremely effective for defense.

Looking at getting a HAK myself too sometime soon. Just have to figure out how I would carry it as I don't like neck carry.

Icutmyself thats a very nice Browning Highpower, who did the work on it?

I have a straight edged one ground by Mickey Yurco. Great little knife. I have to order another one because I lost so much weight that it's loose, even with a paracord wrap! Any excuse to buy another knife... :D

Thank you....The work was almost 20 years ago at C&S...it is a very basic package including Novak sights, a trigger job and an extended saftey...the grips I just got from CDNNinvestments...a good deal at 30 bucks...if I were to do it all over again, I would definttely send it to Yost-bonitz since their work is head and shoulders above the C&S for the HP...

The HP is my favorite gun of all time and I love shooting it, but unfortunately, my dept. does not let us carry single actions off duty....but the P7 did make the list somehow and I'm sure glad...as a second choice, it's pretty good... ;)

I would have to check size availability. The last time I looked curvies only came up to 4.66 and I take a 4.81. By the time I'm ready to consider it seriously, they may be available in the larger size.

I thought that looked like a C&S job. I might actually be getting my old Browning HP back from a friend and was thinking of having it fixed up very much like yours. Only full size 9mm I have right now is a Beretta 92 Elite that I had Ernest Langdon trick out. While I prefer the feel of the Browning HP, I am mostly use to the Beretta 92 as that is what I carried an qualified with as a Medic in the Army. Who is this other gunsmith you mention, Ted Yost? Got a website you can give me to check his work out an prices? Nice H&K by the way, never could get use to the manual of arms on those. Next favorite after the Browning HP is the Sig-Sauer 225.

MY friend Ray works there and they do some amazing work on 1911s and HPs...they have a package for the HP called the HRT but you can pick and choose any combo of custom features....for me, sights, trigger and extended safety were all I really needed...and if you have a newer Mark lll, the safeties and sights are very serviceable and really only "needs" a trigger job....funny thing, when I got my gun from C&S the saftery was a rust colored brown....seems they can't blue it properly after it's welded...so I had to send it out for a teflon coating...not only that, my front sight fell off while shooting and I had to send it back to be re-pinned...oh, and my trigger was so light, I started to have hammer follow so I had to have the sear re-cut...I know C&S has a good rep and it was probably a fluke so I'm not here to flame anyone, just offering my experience..... ;)

Here's a HP Ray did for custom holster maker Matt Delfatti...for me, the tang is a bit too much but the rest is perfection....you can see the whole thread here at the Hi-Power room over at park cities tactical....
