Deer baby.

While doing some fall cleanup today I spotted a deer bedded down.

I just happen to have my camera on my belt next to my Meaner and decided to do a little stalking. I stalked up until I ran out of cover then jumped up and said, cheese.

This is Mr. Half Rack within 20 yards.

Mr. Half Rack saying goodbye, "some tail."

I'm trading the camera for a rifle this weekend and have three tags one for my AD, one for the Meaner, and one for the SJTAC. Also with two days of snow in the forecast, Friday and Saturday, it just keeps getting better.

You got pretty close to it...Its hard to get that close to a deer bedded down. It must have been fighting to loose the other half of its rack.

It seems like you could have climbed a tree and leapt through the air and beheaded the beast in mid flight! Uh, wait, this ain't Georgia. Never mind.

Really though it is always great to come up on game when you aren't actually stalking them, it lets you look at them differently.

It seems like you can do that all the time when your not hunting them, but as soon as your hunting them you can't get within 100 yards of them.
