Half Face Blades?

Does half face blades make good knives? I mean they look really cool, but are they up to par in terms of function, durability, good heat treatment, etc?
 
I have been following that maker on Instagram for a while now. His stuff looks amazing and I am pretty sure they measure up. I often take a look at people who purchase his stuff and they seem to be very pleased.
 
Do you know if he takes custom orders from anyone, or do you have to be military/leo?

I did that before posting this thread. They don't seem to respond to emails. I'm wondering if anyone has experience ordering custom knives from them. Do they typically take a long time to respond to custom order requests?
 
patience now....his website says for custom orders, contact at and lists an email - assuming you emailed earlier today, which is how i read it, its to soon to be questioning anything
 
I have had 6 knives from them. Currently have 4. Had a mix up with an order one time, and it took a few days for them to get back to me and they sent me a free shirt because of the mix up. So their customer service/relations is good, I think they are just busy. And yes, they absolutely do custom work, you can see custom stuff on his feed all the time.

Anyway, super solid, super sharp. You can look around the internet, see some reviews, I haven't seen anything negative. And he is an actual ex SEAL so I would guess he makes things that will get the job done.

They put new knives up most weekdays around 7 PM Eastern, so if you monitor the site you'll eventually find something. Or you can go the custom route.
