Off Topic half inventory discontinued?

can someone enlighten me cold steel discontinue their best stuff? (XL's of many types,Talwar,Lonestar,Immortal)

i know a few people who would drop a grand on some of the old designs

In general I have no idea. But in the case of the Talwar, Persian type blades appear to have gone out of fashion. Benchmade discontinued the Bedlam and Spyderco discontinued the Chinook 4 last year, both 4" Persians. I happen to like Persian blades so I'm super happy the Talwar is coming back.

Poor sales are almost always the reason for a model being discontinued.

And some models, while not officially discontinued, go out of current production due to problems associated with obtaining the raw materials needed to manufacture them! Natchez, Laredo, Trail Master and Recon Scout to name a few.
