Half moon forge with ribbon burner.

I want to build a half moon forge. Can I use high teme fiber insulation or should I cast the shell? The forge will be 24 inches long 12 inches tall with a base 16 inches wide. We are building big axes . Head of ax is 12 inches wide.
I have worked with high temp ovens all my life but all were cast or fire brick. Any one ever buit one useing the new fibe batts to insulate forge?
