Howdy folks! Time for my very first thread in the Becker forum, and what better way to start than to do a GAW? I met some of these lunatics at the last Gathering and I must say, they were very nice to me. Even before I unwrapped all the treats Angie made for us to share... so I'm glad to be able to help give back a little.

You may remember this actual knife from Nikki's GAW thread a few weeks ago. Since I already have a real, original Becker Necker with a thing on the end that opens all kinds of bottles, I decided I would clean it up a bit and pass it on again.

Here's the rules:

Open to any BladeForums member in good standing... even Beckerheads. :p

Post as many times as you like, preferably with a picture of someone doing something fun with either a Becker or a handmade/custom knife. The number of your first post will be your "ticket number", and I'll choose a winner with a random number generator on Thursday morning, August 1st 2013.

One entry per person - EXCEPT - Nikki automatically gets two entries for giving this great knife away in the first place! Also, if you have done a GAW anywhere on BladeForums in the last year, post a link to it, and you get an extra chance, too! :)

Make sense? Seem fair? Too bad, that's the way it is :p

Again, here's the original thread by NikkiR

The edge was a little wonky. Not really as bad as it looks in this picture; it just needed some THK TLC.

So I straightened it out, thinned out the edge a bit, resharpened it and said to myself, "Self, what the heck... let's convex it, remove the coating from the blade and smooth out the factory machining marks a tad"... and voila, Half-Naked Necker! (don't be alarmed, I'll spare you the pics of the Half-Naked Knifemaker :o)

My wife Angie scolded us when we were playing in the garden. "Good grief," she said, "put some pants on!" OK, fine

I decided to see if this thing still cuts after all the abuse I heaped on it, with a couple very fresh cherry tomatoes and an okra pod...

I know, I know... those tomato slices are a little on the thick side; they have color to them still. Don't worry, though, I haven't stropped it yet. It'll get a little sharper :D

So there it is. Have fun and good luck... and most of all, thanks!

Nice work James! Definitely an entry - I need a knife with a bottle opener thingy!

I asked Kiah if he'd make me a Kydex sheath and he did; one of, if not the best Kydex sheath that I own.

If I win please send it to 555 !

He really needs one for opening all kinds of bottles .

Thanks for the chance , JT.

And Becker after a Hike...

Just sharpening a pencil with my bk13 . ugly but functional , and a lot more fun with a becker than a pencil sharpener

Great giveaway. I would be happy to enter.

I don't own a Becker.

So here is a custom doing "something fun"

We rounded up 250 calves, and branded them, tagged their ears, and cut or banded the males, and injected them with a series of shots.

I used a J. Oeser large gunstock to cut a few (I had three different traditionals that all got tried out).

Here it is with the brands heating up.

It got put away dirty and blood for a day until I could wash it off the next day.

I openend this thread an the first thing I saw was my bed comforter  And then I read on.....this is an awesome giveaway James and thanks for taking the time to make her pretty again. I'm not going to enter in this one, but thank you for the opportunity. You rock!

Awesome. Thank you all for playing along! :)

Here's a link to my giveaway I did earlier this year: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/1071904-Psyop-wins!!-Giveaway-The-Greatest-Story-Ever-Told-Part-llAnd here's a pic of my new BK17:

I'm having trouble with your link, but I remember the thread, so this post counts as your second chance. Thanks and good luck!

Cool GAW, Herr Terrio

I appreciate your old-school manners, but let's not go there. Please call me James or JT or "hey, you big dummy!" :D
