Link to my folder: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10151940217183399.1073741831.792813398&type=1&l=e3eed04579

I had about an hour forum, I had about an hour during my lunch break on Friday after a failed attempt at going to my favorite bagel place. So I ran into the Met which was nearby. I put the folder link in a subsection or two but I thought it might have a wider audience so am putting in general. If you click into each picture you get a blow up in case you've never used FB, I set the folder to public so anyone can view it.

The entire set of photos above but here are some teasers of some of the cool things they have there.

Please visit if you get the chance. The $25 entrance fee is only suggested btw, it's actually pay what you want.

Nice post. It's an amazing place. Used to love going in when I lived in NYC.

Among all the incredible arms and armor there are some incredible sets of medieval/renaissance hunting knife sets. Usually a dual scabbard with large knife for finishing off the prey and smaller knife in attached sub-scabbard for fine work, dressing etc.
Interesting to see how tastes and preferences in blade shape have changed and varied over the centuries (and probably locations and individuals and types of game).
The Met website has virtual everything.

If you're ever in Austria check out the Styrian Armoury in Graz. Great for edged weapons as well: two-handed swords, hand-and-a-half swords, swords, sabres, pallashes, estocs, cavalry broadswords, bayonets.

Looks like a very interesting place to visit, I'll be sure to check it out if I ever find myself in the area. I find ancient armament very fascinating, and unfortunately I do not think there are any museums with exhibits like these anywhere near here.
