Hall of Shame and still post?

I noticed a member made the Hall of Shame but is still allowed to post. Shouldn't at a minimum the avatar have a warning so people know to check the Hall of Shame before entering in deals?

Thanks,

Paul

That's a good question and a good idea. For someone to even get into the Hall of Shame, they have to have been very lax in their dealings, so a warning is not out of bounds. Some will say that it will encourage people to stop using that profile and just create another, but that's just more of a reason not to deal with them.

Spark,

Because of the age of many of the threads, looking at the Hall of Shame does not reveal all the 'bad guys' due to the default 'last ten days' worth of posts. Right now it looks like no one has done anything wrong...

Each of these threads deserves to be seen without working to find them or simply not knowing for the newbie.

Question is: Can this forum alone remain with a default 'From the beginning'?

Curious, in case it's never been brought up before. No biggie.

Spark,

Would it be possible to alphabetically list the user names contained in the threads? With links to each of the threads, that would really make it easy for us newbies to look for who is there. Rather than have to search them out.

No big deal, but sure would like it available, have NOT been burned yet by any of my buys on the forum, but the Hall of Shame has never been a help to find out any rats before hand.

Thanks for your time.

James

I'm with James Todd on this, it would be great to have one sticky thread that just listed name, address and the url of the thread for each hall of shame entry.

Scanning for baddies would be much easier.

Is the default really last 10 days??? Changing that to zero would solve this problem and others too. It wouldn't be any more load on the servers -- almost all forums here must show a full page of threads even with only last 10 days view.

It's set to show "From the Beginning" for me?

It's set that way for me too, but is that the default or did I set it that way back in October 1998? I don't remember....

This morning I change my request to beginning, went back in to check this pm and it was back to 60 day default, at least I know now to change it if I want to see any bad newbies.

I had been going to the bottom of the page and viewing the pulldown list for dates. When I returned it would go back to my previous setting (10days).

I found my preferences in my Control Panel and changed to 'from the beginning' from Last 10 days.

Logged out, logged in and it's all there.

Voila!

Thanks. Operator Error.
