my son & I was watching the Dallas Stars vs. St. Louis game and my wife and her nieces were carving pumpkins. Here's my wife's pumpkin (granted she's excluded from the contest)

i came up with this pattern.

here it is drawn on the pumpkin, with some areas blacked out. that's where i'm cutting all the way through.

pic or two of the effort. i started by removing just the skin from the non-blacked out parts.

Cool contest and great entries so far. Not really but I wanted to share with you my first EVER pumkin - very basic compared to previous awesomeness but I am damn proud of it regardless. Made with Izula

Heres my carving

First I drew it out. Yes thats a lite machete slicing a zombie in half and an esee 6 stuck in the skull of the other:).

Then onto the pumpkin

Detail work is really tough with the esee 6 my hand hurt, probably gonna be sore tomorrow. That's the only esee knife I have, I hope to get a new addition after this contest.

I scraped the inside with my fingernails so it would be easier to cut through, which lifted my index fingernail off the finger and bled afterwards.

Finished cutting out the guys. I left some parts like the gun intact cause it would of broke off, and the splatter is just poked once.

Finished with candle in.

Afterwards I decided to carve a face into the back.

Thanks for the contest

Ok just I actually thought this would be a lot easier that it turned out to be. I carved the whole thing with an Izula. Just to clarify I tried to get artsy and in the daylight it looks ok but at night some of the areas did not light up like I intended. Any way thanks for the chance now her is my pumpkin in all its awesomeness.

Note the concentration

Here ya go!

I didn't take as many pictures as I wanted. After the initial cut, things got a little messy and it was hard to shoot and cut at the same time. I was actually surprised how easily the RC-6 sliced through the top of Ol' Jack!. Made some tasty roasted seeds as well. Yum!
