Hello all,

With halloween quickly approaching, I thought it would be cool to have a costume party. We could all post pictures of ourselves in this years costume.

In order to push you guys into dressing up I figured what better way to motivate you bastids than with the promise of free knives.

So, the week after Halloween I will start the new thread for everyone to post pics of themselves. Please, don't cheat and post pictures that are not really you!! Maybe in every pic you can hold up a sign that says BFC or something?

From the time I open the new thread, I will give everyone a weeks time to get their pics up.
The best costume will be picked by a panell of highly trained experts(Me and my girlfriend)

The winner will receive any production knife of his/her choice with a $200.00 or less MSRP value(assuming that I can get it)

Only one costume entry per person please. Void where prohibited by law

So start thinking and get those costumes.

Mike, Spark and all of the Moderaters are encouraged to enter Also.

P.S. for any reason if you think this is a bad idea, just let me know.

It's a bad idea. A real bad idea.

Have you ever seen VG? He's going to see this, and post more pictures of himself.

If we could keep VG out, it'd be a great idea.
I guess we'll just have to skip his posts.

You're not thinking -- haven't you seen some of the pictures of guys here WITHOUT even the funny costumes? Are you sure you're up for the sight???

Louis, while I personally dont celebrate Halloween, I know most do.

Save yourself alot of time and just send Vampire Gerbil the prize now

First of all, I suggest that you have an amateur AND a professional category. No prize other than recognition need be given to the professionals, as they already have been adequately compensated for their effort.
VG, obviously, fits into the professional category.

Secondly, anyone with reservations about celebrating a 'pagan' holiday should recall that the early Christian church adopted many pagan holidays and turned them into Christian ones. Haloween is officially the Eve of All Saints day, as I recall. Therefore, let us all feel free to join in the fun.

Last, please be safe. I began my long involvement with Photon lights on Haloween. Concerned about the safety of the neighborhood children, I obtained a number of them for the kids to wear in the evening. They worked absolutely terrifically! That little light really marks people, and motorists will easily be able to discern the children (and their escorts) from a lot farther away. Red and orange work well for this.

Have fun, and may the best person (?) win!

I bet that thread is gonna suck bandwidth like you cant believe...

Maybe people should just post links to their picture on photopoint or sumpin, that way BF doen't get stuck paying for all the added bandwidth..

just my opinion...

Nice gresture Louis...great idea!!!

Don't have any pictures of it but when the kids were little I did not have the money at the time for costumes so I wrapped them in yellow plastic wrap-- drew lines on them with a black magic marker and sent them out dressed as urine specimans.

Just a reminder!!

Halloween is quickly approaching.

One more stipulation. There needs to be at least 10 contestants for the contest to be official. It would not be very much fun if I had to choose between two costumes, so let's get those costumes ready. Good luck.

Walt, I agree that several Christian holidays began as piggybacks on pagan ones - the Spring festival (Easter), the winter festival (Christmas), etc. But Halloween is the only one that still retains it's pagan roots clearly, nobody even knows what it means on the Christian calendar. Blood, gore (not Al), ghosts, withes, goblins, evil,... how much plainer could it be ?? It is also recognized as the occult's highest "unholy" day of the year. Talk to a cop who deals with child abductions (which spike during this time of year) or animal sacrifices (ditto). Occultists get a good laugh when people say Halloween is "Harmless" and "good fun for kids" - they know better.

Go into a Christmas store and see if you can buy anything pagan or occult related. Go into a Halloween store and try to buy something NOT pagan or occult related.
