Found a new trail system with a lot more shade and greenery than I'm used to! I didn't see a single person and the foot prints I did see were old. Finally a somewhat local area where I can feel like I'm in the middle of nowhere!

You can see the city way in the back there

The trail was hard to find in some spots, this area seems to be rarely travelled which is great for me.

This tree was burned right through the bottom but it was still alive

Skull rock? Or maybe a Stormtrooper helmet

More rocks, I love rocks :D These formations are more massive than I can capture in a pic

Never knew I could be so excited about a damn hat!

I know the feeling, but ain't it cool. I have worn mine everyday, all day, since I got it. Tarp hats rock out loud. Looks like you got a good one, so did I.

tknife, it always astounds me where you can find old hay rakes & other old farm equipment. I have found plows, rakes, seeders, etc. in places in Ohio that the land was not even close to being worked as farm land. Was the entire area around that rake as rocky as the background? Great shots of the outdoors, nice to know you had the whole place to yourself for awhile.
Be safe.

I like rock formations, too. I find them very intriguing how they can creat a scene all on their own.
Thanks for sharing the pics!

The entire mountain range here is steep, uneven and really rocky, so I dunno what the heck got raked with that thing! There apparently used to be a ranch here that was also a filming site for old westerns from the 30's through the 50's so it could have been a prop for that.

I'm not sure what it is about the tarp hat, but the combo of light weight, head cooling, sun protection and roguish good looks just has me loving it every time I wear it. I've worn it on at least half a dozen hot hikes now and it really makes a difference in keeping me cooler.

That place looks like a great find buddy, those rock overhangs look like a perfect spot for an overnighter !

Damn im jealous!!! Awesome hiking spot.

Nice pictures. Thanks for sharing. I like seeing outdoor scenes in other countries.

Always nice to find a hidey hole that people have overlooked fun to have a look around and explore
nice pictures
Is this location far from where you are at
Thanks

I am very lucky that I have these great mountains right down the street from my house. I would probably go stir crazy if I couldn't get out on a quick hike a couple times a week  I have to drive maybe 45 minutes to get to the closest national forest, which isn't too bad but not always convenient.

I do love true wilderness, "a place where man is but a visitor", but I also love history and something like that plow always intrigues me as to what was going on there however many years ago. It truly brings up questions as to what may have been in the past.
