Halloween is Coming--Which Khukuri for Which Monster?

With Halloween just around the proverbial corner, I got to thinking about which HI models would be best for dispatching various monsters. Here's what I've come up with so far:

Vampires and werewolves-- either the silver mounted AK or the kothimoda, though I don't know if the lack of silver in the blade itself would be a problem. Might need to get a custom job with silver inlays in the blade or something.

Zombies-- I think the 18" AK would really shine here--think head and limb removal.

Tentacled monsters--probably something like the Kumar Kobra, or maybe a sirupati in 25 or 30 inch size.

Dragons-- a Garud AK, of course.

So, what do you think so far? Please feel free to add to the list; I know it's far from complete.

Vampires need silver? I'd think the wood model of the Cherokee Rose would do nicely, or the wood model PenKnife.

For animated skeletons, the super saylan (sp?) might do the trick, for pure bludgeoning effect...

Opening the door to the BirGorkha charpi might keep everything away, if you could stand it yourself. But maybe the monsters come from the charpi itself

mPisi--egads, you're right! for some reason I was thinking vampires are thwarted by silver, but I recall now that it is the wooden stake that does them in-- maybe I was thinking of a silver crucifix or something. Good thing I posted this or I could have been using the wrong tool for the job :D .

In old Norse folklore, the walking dead are called a Draugr. Only way to "kill" one is to take off its head with a single blow and then get between the head and body before they can reunite. The remains should then be suitably burned and ashes well scattered. Hmmm, clean decapitation with a single blow, I'm thinking Tarwar.

Edited to add: Then again, if something had my back to the wall and scared for my life, I'd shred it up pretty ugly with my Pen Knife.

Sarge, I've read your warnings and praise of the Tarwar. What would this blade be like in battle combat compared to a sword made for battle say a hundred or 2 hundred years ago.

I was searching the net for swords and obviously I got the search results that say is your sword real or of quality.

I have no doubt in the HI quality but I know nothing technical about swords - I've been trained to use them in Chinese martial arts but as far as the construction and quality go I'm lost !!

all acomments welcome !!

not doubting HI just myself !!

:p

Angus Trim swords have a good reputation

Del Tin makes a decent piece apparently not as good as an Angus Trim. I got a couple of these before wandering into the world of Nepali cutlery.

Angus Trim swords are wonderful. Can't chop logs like a khuk, but I've personally seen up to 14" cuts through 1/4" plywood.

Brendan;

The zone hardened spring steel blade of the Tarwar is as good as most that were used in the days before gunpowder and far better than many. If I had any criticism/suggestion on the Tarwar it would be to beef up the tsuba/handguard. I know, block with shield, hew with sword, but you can't hang on to your sword if your hand is sans digits.

Now being a strange person, I have thought this question over quite often. If there was a demonic entity that needed dispatching, I would use this special kris that I have sitting underneath the bed. The dust-bunnies (no relation to Uncle Bills) have sanctified it, making the perfect demonic slaying blade. :D All kidding aside, I have a few that supposedly have magic properties, and some that have done wierd things to me, such as make all my money dissappear:p

Forget that sainted personna folks. Break out the garlic and crucifixes.
...this season the duck's sporting fangs and an HI katana!

He'll probably just kick down a steel door and use it to squash em flat...
