Im starting to become interested in Emerson knives. I have some questions though and need some convincing that I need one. Having been here at BF for a bit of time now and respecting your opinions I figure there must be something special about these knives for you all to carry them.
I have a Strider AR and like it, but it is a bit big for EDC. I currently carry a Benchmade auto for EDC. Its a nice knife...that is why I'm interested in hearing your thoughts.
The commander seems popular. I dont have any recurve knives. What is it that makes the recurve so great? Is it the extra cutting length it provides? The Commander might be a bit big for me though.
The 2 knives that really interest me are the Mach 1 and the Specwar. I havent really seen that many opinions on either (although I did not do an extensive search). I have seen the Specwar is a now discontinued model....although I still see them for sale on the net. Any opinions on these two knives? Pros & cons verse each other....verse the Commander?
Also, what is the "Wave"? I watched the video Emerson provides on the net. Still can't figure it out. I assume it deals with the notch on the top of some blades. One last thing...can someone post a picture of an Emerson liner lock? It would be appreciated.
I also just noticed that all the knives appear to be a chisel grind. What are your thoughts on this concerning Emerson Knives?
Thanks,
-Wick
One more last thing...after reading some posts, is there any issue with the quality control of these knives or has someone just been trying to start trouble?
