I'm getting ready to buy a 2 meter radio and I am considering an Icom 2200. any of you guys had any experience with this radio

I'm mostly a Yaesu man myself. That doesn't mean that isn't a decent radio.

Seems to have a pretty good review.

I can't be of much help on the current gear out there, but I always used Yaesu radios back when I was more active. I do know that lots of my buddies had Icom radios and they have always seemed to be a great product, FWIW.

Icom and Kenwood are my preferences for dedicated ham gear.

The 2200 is a great single band mobile. If that's what you're after, and the price is reasonable, you won't be disappointed. There is a lot of 440Mhz/70cm activity around here, so I prefer dual-band mobiles and HTs.
