Hammer Brand at SMKW

Yep.

Razor, that's a great pic. Beautiful combo. What kind'a pistol is that?
Always a pleasure to see the knives you post in your sig.

Alex.

Why that's a Ruger Bisley model, isn't it? I had one in .45 Colt. A pleasure to shoot...

Stainless has some age to it- first use was in the early-mid 20s. I have a few stainless knives that go back to the early 30s, though they're by no means common.

Scott,

Do you know who makes them and if they are any good?

From the one little picture, they don't half bad.

airyg, I honestly don't know. I do know that Camillus and Queen both do contract jobs for other brands. For example, Queen did Bluegrass cutlery's premium Winchester knives and Camillus did Buck's 300 series pocket knives. You could contact SMKW and ask who makes them. If they're made in the U.S. my bet is it's Camillus. as a matter of fact, the blades are similar to Camillus made knives.
The pistol in my sig. is in fact a Ruger Bisley in 41 mag. It's a sweet shooter and the trigger pull is as smooth as butter.:D The knife is an elk handled version of Ron Hood's Buffalo Blade only that one is O1 instead of D2.

My first guesses were Queen and Camillus too but the knives are a bit cheap for Queen production and maybe even Camillus. I thought maybe some other maker like Bear or Utica or some other smaller maker. I will probably have to email SMKW. Thanks.

Bear could be a possibility. At any rate I would rather see them with carbon steel instead of stainless. Most stainless blades in these traditional stye pocket knives as not all that great. I'd be curious too as to who makes them. good luck and let us know.

I believe Taylor and Frost (?) have started a new company with shrade equipment. It supposedly opend up last fall maybe. They were to have produced this type of product. Maybe that's the company.

We've had a representative of SMKW cluttering up the Schrade forum the past week. I'll try to pawn him off... er... I mean I'll try and get him to address this question here.

They are repros, possibly commisioned by smoky (they are notorious for this). Probably made by bear. Could be camillus also, but it looks like one of bears stockmans with a different stamp.
