I had made this hammer in 2009 after lusting over Jesus' hammer I saw at the Fire and Brimstone hammer in. Jesus kindly sent me drawings and measurements and I forged one as close as I could to the same specs, however I put a long handle on it. Watching the recent W2 katana video I saw again and it was refreshed in my mind how damn good he is with it and I decided to shorten my handle also, and here it is.

It weighs 5 pounds.

The longest handle on a hammer I use to forge with 1 handed is pretty short by most other people's standards. Everyone gets a length that they're comfortable with, but I like mine on the short side, I feel I get better control, and I dont tire as much when using them. I measure the length by grabbing over the top of the hammer, and curling my elbow 90 degrees, I want the handle to come down and touch my bicep / the crook of my elbow. For me that makes the perfect length.

I need to get myself a Sammer someday =)

That is a good lookin hammer. You know what else I want to say, Sam.... but I'll resist.

Sam,
I like your hammers or is it sammers. Anyway one day I would like to order one from you. But for the time being, could you just get Rick his darn hammer? I mean every time I see your work I know he will be asking for it. Thank you and have a great one.

Maybe NOW something will be done about this injustice!

Thank you for your continued support, DanCo

I got to get back to the BIG tools, right now i am in my little shop, I need to borrow time on the big hammer or the big press to do Rick's hammer, yeah, do it.

You start hand slitting & drifting 2" rounds of 4150,etc it turns into big work dont it Sam?

F*(&^ yeah it does! If I had a striker I could do it, my tools are good for working up to about 1.5" but that's it.
