These are three knives I obtained at the Gulf Coast Knifemakes Asso. Hammer-in in Vancleve Missisippi yesterday.

Steve Shifter 10in blade, bowie in 1095 with a matched boot knife 4in
Steve is a great guy and builds a great knife, laid waste to several coke cans, water bottles and a rope in a cutting contest with the bowie, still on a hi from it all

Next is a Scott Black hunter in 1095 with buffalo horn, another great guy and great maker.

Doesn't get much better than this. Thanks to Paul LeBatard for hosting the hammer-in.

I've been to the hammer-in held in Old Washington, Arkansas several times and they are certainly a good time. It's a good chance to meet makers, see some of their latest knives, and the cutting competitions are a great way to end the afternoon.

Real nice knives James,

All very nice. I especially like the blade profiles on the Shiffer set.
Seeing quite a few sets these days......

Thanks guys, I'm still buzzing about it, I am having Scott Black do the same as above in damascus. Hope to be able to forge my own cutter soon, with this much talent around these parts something has got to rub off. Just found about a dozen coke cans and two dozen water bottles. Bet you can't guess what I got planned for ths afternoon.

Veeery nice knives - both of them! I really like the boot knife - buffalo horn just adds "that certain touch".
