I have been checking in for a while and finally caved. I could not resist any longer and ordered myself a VTAC. That thing is so sweet. A lot of power in a small package...NICE. Rooikat's comments on the sheath are right on too... aftermarket quality > standard. That adds to what is already a great value!

Andy, I was wondering if you would ever do a run of VTAC's with a hammer poll. That would be such a useful tool as I am going to use this for more standard outdoor activities. I think this may have been asked in a recent thread but I could not find an answer. Again my compliments to you and your crew!

One more thing...Is there a coating on that thing? I was wondering about corrosion resistance here in the Pacific Northwest. Thanks!
 
I think the head is painted, but, I am not positive. I have seen pics of our guys over in the sand, and the appearance of the wear on their hawks leads me to believe it is paint or some kind of parkerization. Yes, I cannot spell parkerization. I could look it up, but I'm lazy.
