This years featured demonstrators will be Dr.Mike Blue, Rick Furrer, Ethan Becker, Ron Frazier and Al Pendray.

This event will take place the first weekend in May, the 5th, 6th, & 7th. at Lonesome Pine Forge (Larry Harley's). Cost of the event is $95.00, and a bag of REAL wood charcoal.

PLEASE pre register as I will be feeding everyone several times and need to keep track of the participants. For more information or to register, contact Larry Harley at 423-878-5368 or by downloading registration form and sending it along with fee.

This event will be geared toward a small informal gathering . Mike Blue will build a Japenese Oven. Rick Furrer will demonstrate Wootz, Blister steel and Shear Steel. Ron Frazier will do a demo on handles and guards. Ethan Becker will give a demonsstration on the proper use of Kichen knives. And, Alfred Pendray will demo Wootz and the finer points of heat treating.

There will be a cutting comptetion with kitchen knives. Bring your favoite kitchen knife.

I am asking all participants to bring projects you are working on and I'm also asking that you bring something that didn't quite workout or something you are having trouble with or questions about. This should facilitate the leaning experience.

We will also have an Iron in the Hat Saturday. afternoon. Please bring something for the iron in the hat.

Sunday afternoon will be free to the general public.

We will have a a round table and a knife show so bring knives

I will have several forging stations set up so that participants will have the opportunity for hands-on after demos. Please bring your own steel.

There are several cheap no-tell motels close by.

There's been a rumor floating around that there are several pickers and players showing up.

Mike Blue is gathering me up Thursday morning and we will be heading down to Halrey's.
This is shaping up to be a very good time for anyone interested in steelmaking.

If possible you folk should attend.
