I am new to knifemaking and it seems that hammerins are a great place to meet experienced knifemakers and learn from them.

Can anyone tell me where I can located a list of hammerins or tell me about any that are within a 150 mile radius of Knoxville, TN?

Thanks you guys are great.

One of the best hammer-ins going these days is held anually right there in Knoxville. Ron Claiborne host's it at his shop there. I don't have his contact info handy but you can find it by using search.

Trackrock's coming up third weekend in May, Blairsville, GA. More than welcome to join us there. Keep your eyes open for details in the near future. First notice will be found in early March on the Georgia Custom Knifemakers Guild website: www.GeorgiaKnifemakersguild.com

I know it's been said before but it is great they way newbies are welcomed and helped by the experienced guys.

Thanks!

The drive down to Birmingham for Batsons would be worth it also.

Like was said above, Ron Claiborne(Bowie on the forums), has one every year in Knoxville, and he does help new makers any time. If you want contact info, let me, or Fitzo know.

Darren Ellis is another one in your area. He makes knives(I believe), and straight razors, and runs a knifemakers supply business too.
