The Hammerjamin was a success thanks to all who attended. Special thanks go out to Ray Richard and Chuck Richards (Woodchuck forge) for the great demos, and Jeff and Ty for the video camera work. Chuck was kind enough to do a surprise demo at the end. We reviewed the video footage and it looks great!

It was really great to finally meet Ray in person. He's way funnier in real life. :D

Marvin also posted some pictures on his website. Here's the link. Thanks Marvin!

Tai, Thanks you for the invite and coming up with the idea for the mini hammerin! It was great to finally meet you in person. I had a blast and totally enjoyed myself. Glad you asked Chuck to demonstrate since my arm was pretty well spent after forging the spearhead. It was nice seeing 3 different hand forging styles. Now if my box shows up in the mail today I can't wait to experiment with your "magic hammer". Now that I have that long lock of hair my strength seems to be coming back also! :D

That was actually a lock of my hair I donated to Ray. :)

The power is in my hair! :D

May the forge be with you! :)

Here’s a few shots from after hours Saturday night. The moon was full,… so we decided to take a few heats on “Enchanted Billet #2“. Ray helped with the drawing and Chuck Richards helped me make the weld. That thing was HOT!

Jeff took the pix and is going to send me a bunch more from the whole day.

If you guys ever do a hammer in at Raymond's shop I hope I am able to get in on it! I am green with envy every time I see pics/hear about the hammer ins that I'm not able to attend!

Great pics, wouldn't mind to see a few more!

I checked out the pics you had at the link, and noticed 10 commandments of the shop posted n the wall - but I can't read them from here

what are they?

That I do not doubt one little bit!!! So when's the DVD going to be available???

FP, It shouldn't be long, maybe 2020. :D I'm just guessing but I don't think it will be anymore than a month or two if that. I think there was close to 6 hours of video shot so I think it will be just a matter of making it shorter. We watched the whole thing on Sunday and it was just great! Picture and sound was really good. A Star was Born!

It was an absolute blast meeting so many great folks. Renewing my friendship with Tai was great also. It was 17 years ago when I took my first knife-making lesson from Tai. He is still a fantastic teacher. Thanks for a great time.

Ray and I are trying to get a hammer jammin for 2011 in the Portland area. We just need to Hammer out were and we'll be ready to rock.

Hey Wood Chuck!

When I heard you were going to be there I grieved even more missing out. Any chance the Oregon 2011 HJ could be during the summer? I might be able to make that.

All the best, Phil

Ray, remember that the footage was from 2 cameras shooting at the same time, one for close ups and one further back. It's really not that long. If figure the finished video will be about 2 hours and won't need to be clipped and edited that much, mostly just toggled between the two cameras. I think directing the camera men really helped, in that there's not a lot of wasted footage.

Actually that was the time frame we were looking at. It will be up to the other players as well. All depends on everyone's availability.

Take Care

Tai, I can't remember what I did last night let alone last Saturday. :D

I am a little late on this, but when will you be selling locks of the miracle hair that will cure all forging problems and make you an instant forge genius?:p I could try growing my own, but I don't think it would have the same effect. I think I cursed it by having a mega mullet back in the 80s:o

If you can grow hair on your back there's no need for one of Tai's locks. My wife calls me the "Silver Back" just like my uncle. :D

I can still grow it on my head, just a pain to keep out of my eyes, it would be so much easier to clip it in when needed:D
Now would a back hair comb over be the ultimate comb over or what:eek:

Taken last August before cutting it all of, see I had lots of it

Here's the last know picture of me with a full head of hair. The photo is from when I was a kid in 1971 about a year after I left Vietnam. Frank Zappa Jr..
