Hamon types/techniques

Any knifemaking/smithing book out there that explains the various types of hamon and the techniques used? Terminology too.

Looking to better understand the different appearances and how they are done in order to be better able to ask for what I want from a maker and to just understand how some of my knives were made.

"The art of Japanese Sword Polishing", by Setsuo Takiawa has a lot of needed info on polishing and accenting a hamon, as well as hamon and blade terminology.
"The Art of the Japanese Sword", and other Japanese sword books have wonderful info, diagrams, and photos. It helps if you read Japanese.Many online sword sites have tutorials and glossaries. I put a glossary and some links to Japanese sword sites in the Stickys. There have been many tutorials and discussions on hamon formation and yaki-ire in Shop Talk. Use the google search engine in the stickys to search for them.
