Here is another in the form of my Hand Axe concept. Please excuse the oily, just out of the shop pic :) Think small hatchet with a point and dual position handle. This one is 11inches overall with a 5inch cutting edge. Steel is 1/4inch thick 5160 with black G10 scales. I started making these based on the knife made in the wild in the movie the Hunted. It was a basic stripped down Tracker and I actually liked that concept over the original :) I have found these to be quite useful on hikes and around camp.

I really do like the hand ax design. So versatile.
JD placed 3rd in a chopping contest while using his hand ax.
That's no small feat considering some of the large choppers he was up against!

This one is a little smaller than Julio's but being a saber grind, it would chop just as well. I really like this concept since it makes for a compact chopping tool. Paired up with your favorite Swiss Army Knife, you'd be all set for a long trail.
