I'm curious if you guys use tools other than the nylon bone folder or nylon disk.

I have one I made from micarta, one out of wood that I made for the drill press, but only use it by hand, as well as a deer tine.

What do you use?

I end up using the nylon folder most, but the tine works great for burnishing holes.

I use a bone folder I bought when I started my leatherwork hobby .
I've bought one of those nylon ones that have a half circle thingy that can be clipped onto the end , but I never liked it from the moment I first picked it up . It just didn't feel right and it's no where near as smooth as the bone one . It gets used now as a glue stirrer and applicator .
I've searched through my pics and found this one that shows my favourite bone one .

I use dis one:

and a piece of antler tine.

Of course if I put out the sheaths that other makers here do, I'd go with something like this:

Stay tuned for a review on Nigel Armitage's buffer mounted burnisher and sanding drum. Very similar to the Cobra, but less expensive. My current motor is not variable speed (like the Cobra), but I'll be buying a new motor anyway. If I can keep the price down, and find one at all, I'll go with a VS 6". :)

Dave, or anyone else, have you ever tried one of those wood creasers?

I won an auction for 3 snakewood pen blanks and I'll probably turn two of them into burnishers, but I'm wondering how the creasers work. Looks like the longest leg runs on the edge of the leather (like the guide on a groover) and the shorter leg makes a crease?

Anyone like these?

I use the genuine bone folder, modeling tools
For burnishing the handle of an edge beveler as its always close by when finishing edges, and the Tandy round nylon slicker.
