Hey Guys, Matt here, just thought I'd post some pics of a little stag handled knife that I recently made. Blade material is 1075 high carbon steel, hand forged, normalized three times, finish ground and filed, heat treated, tempered at 400 for 30 minutes & 1 hour (two separate sessions). Drilled and filed tang slot, glued with clear epoxy, 400 grit finish on blade, smooth 400 grit finish on handle with linseed oil as protective and color drawing agent. Light coating of mineral oil on the blade. Sharpened.

Very nice, this takes me back in time a while, years ago I made a knife almost exactly like that, I wish I still had that knife. Keep up the good work.

Thanks Scott! Guess we all have those experiences, especially if you are a knife-make that sells blades. This was a learning experience to be sure. I've never worked with bone before, so when I went to fit the tang I tried the conventional burn in method.... hehe..... I learned real quick that that doesn't work with bone. So I went back to needle files which worked out fine anyway.
