Another E/V Nautilus rudder bearing knife, and my first(!) hand-forged blade.

Like the style, so I assume it is 52100 steel if I think was from a bearing.

cbach8tw cbach8tw : it was a 1967 East German bearing. Not sure what assumptions can be confidently made. However, it does air-harden in thin sections and is tough to drill even when annealed, so I'm guessing there some Cr in there. 52100-ish is as plausible as anything, but that's an American standards org, AFAIK.
