A friend found them in an auction lot of nautical stuff. Looks like they're trade weights. Folks have surmised they may have ended up being used (once upon a time) to weight fishing nets or duck decoys though. https://www.ebay.com/itm/312378848072
If you didn't tell me I would have guessed they were sounding weights for the old river boats before they invented depth sounders with side scan and 3D imaging.
At first impression, would believe a balance weight. Those markings to indicate calibrated weight value, ownership or both.
