Hi can you help me identify this sword. It has the word India and some flower design on the blade. It's approx. 28"-29" long. Scabbard is red w/little beads and thick thread designs on it. All the handles look like silver. The two little knives are approx. 5"-5 1/2" long. All hand made. For some reason I can't post the pix.

Also have a regular sword (slight curve to it)with engraving on it, from India approx 30" long with a brass handle and hand guard with a lions head on the end of it. Scabbard is lime green. Looks like a military style. Any guesses? Is there a market for these? Thanx again.

Your picture didn't post, but from your description I'll hazard a guess, especially if the handle is black horn and the pommel is aluminum cast to vaguely resemble a lion's head. It's an Indian made version of the Nepalese Gurkha khukuri, for the tourist trade. In that size it's a copy of the knives used to ritually behead water buffalo in the Dashein festival ceremonies. To learn a lot more about khukuris, check out the Khukuri FAQ.
