I just recently tried the following: Metal Glo, Flitz, Mothers' Mag polish,
and I have tried a couple others too including Simichrome.
Just wondering if there is anything even better yet. I found Rennasiance Wax on internet but it us quite high and wondered if it is worth it.

What do you all think? Any super outstanding favorite?

I am a flitz man. I do not over polish, I just get the bad stuff off. I like to buy 20+ yrs old knives. It started when I found a Queen City Jack in a tool box I bought for $20 with tools at an estate sale. Wanted the tool box, got the knife that was worth easy $50.00 I did some internet research on how to gently remove the corrossion and rust, and Flitz seemed to be a prominent item. I polished this 2 blader to a mirror finish by hand, and it did have some tough areas when I started. I gave the knife to my dad for Father's Day. It made my older brother jealous, he bought golf balls. Yeah, I am in my forties, but sibling rivalry really never does die! :-) I was amazed at how gentle but effective Flitz was. I am ignorant of any other brand. I might want to look at something to coat my blades, as my slippie collection is growing and I do not want any more corrosion.

I use Simichrome.
Rennaisance Wax is not a polish-it's an expensive wax. Neutral shoe polish works just as well-maybe better.

Question for Bill DeShivs:
Do you mean to use the Nuetral Shoe polish to coat the blades for corrosion resistance?

Anything you would use Renaissance Wax for, you can use neutral shoe polish for. Neither is best for protecting blades.

Thanks Bill. Do you think Meltonian in Neutral would be a good bet?
You are right about Renaissance Wax being pretty salty, at least IMHO.

I use Ren Wax - have been using the same Can for over 2 years so I do not consider it expensive.

I like Simi chrome for tougher stains on blades. Mothers Mag is the least abrasive of them all and I only use this as a final polish.

If your blades are clean and kept in a humidity controlled environment, they should be fine with wax, or even nothing. Any decent oil will work. Regardless, you should check them every so often. Wipe off the old oil, put new oil on. Oils can harden after a while.
Wax does not coat the blade after it is buffed. It fills the microscopic pores and offers some protection. If you left the wax unbuffed it would probably work very well.
Rennaissance Wax is made for items that will not be handled. It goes on easy, and comes off quickly. Paste wax builds up thicker and lasts longer.
