Rant on
It's 3 A.M. and I'm hand sanding...I hate it.

How much longer do I have to do this bleep!?
Answer: Till it's done...

Rant off...

actually kind of a waste of a good rant...it's late and my vision is getting blurry.

Comming up on 4:00 and I'm still not having a whole lotta fun. But it is looking a whole lot better. :)

Matt this is your knife by the way. :D :p

edit: it 4:00 and I can't spell.

Get off the damn computer and sand away then :p ;)

Don't know how your doing it. Most of the time I'd rather get up at 4:00AM than try to stay up until 4AM anymore. I guess I'm getting old....

Hey shappa,
I too was hand sanding last night, now I cant use my fingers as I have sanded my finger tips away. Ouch! (pressed a key) Ouch (pressed another) :D :) ....

Noon and back at it. :)

The next one will be a different finish and I'll do it on the grizzly.

But I'm quite pleased with this one so far...I'd post pics but it's Matt's kith knife. :)

If it makes ya feel any better I spent the afternoon hand sanding :barf:
I'm doin my first batch of knives on my new Coote grinder (my first belt grinder). It was actually kind of fun starting out, since I got to start with 320 grit instead of 120 like I used to do with the benchgrinder  . But those tiny little flaws don't come out much easier than big ones and the fun wore off quick.
Erasing my mistakes with a 15 micron belt and going back to sanding was pretty cool though
Now I'm just wishing I wasn't such a cheap ass and would have ordered more belts. The ceramic grits are going strong but the finer ones are gettin slick :(

Yep, those micron belts are cool, but I'm wary about slipping and messing everything up so I'm gonna stick with hand sanding, on this one at least.

I plan to use an old micro belt for the final bevel and maybe some contouring on the scales.
