first time posting here, usually over with da knife group. Just recieved my order which was advertised not as a flashlight but a "hand torch". This bugger has six LEDs and one xenon bulb. Just less than six inches in length, machined aluminum and the sucker is bright. I am very happy with the purchase. The first click of the switch lights 3 of the LEDs, second click lights all six and third click has all LEDs on plus the xenon bulb. Anybody else have one of these? Made by Xenergy.

Thanks for the sites, Cosmic. I did check out the raves on the candlepower forums. This hand torch is all they say it is. Again, thanks.

Ive been looking at these for a while and couldnt stand it anymore after reading the review. Just ordered one.

How do they compare to a Inova X5T ? in size and brigtness? I read som eon them somewhere before but not much.

im wondering about the comparison to the x5t as well, im about to purchase the x5t but now that i see this im having second thoughts. anyone that has both feel free to speak up :). thanks

I don't have the Xenergy yet, but I have an Inova X5T and I love it. For me it's the perfect size for everyday carry.

On the Xenergy the battery life is advertised at 26 hrs (3 LED), 12 hrs (6 LED), 1 3/4 hours(xenon). The Inova X5T's advertised battery life is 20+ hours. Obviously, the xenon bulb on the Xenergy will produce a powerful light have more throw than an LED.

Here are pics for size reference from the Lightsite:

*NOTE* Current models of the Inova X5T no longer have the fluting on the body. The current models look like this:

thanks for the comparison Cosmic Superchunk really appriciate it. the 5xt you have, does it provide enough throw for relitivly close use? in the 1-2m range? do you by chance also have a head band that you can wear the light in? i ask this because i have one and use it with my current 2aa mag, and its really pretty worthless because it doesnt direct the light in the right place. ( i know i know why not just buy a head lamp :) ) im looking for more versitiliy than anything is why im leaning towards the xenergy but its lack of waterproofnss and i dont know about the companys history and reliability etc. (not sure how tough its going to be) are kind of turning me off..and the 5xt looks so darn cool too :). thanks again

Hi Billy, the X5T does have more than enough throw for close use. Believe me, once you get the Inova X5T you will never look at you Mini-Mag again. The Inova is smaller and easier to carry compared to the Xenergy. I think the Xenergy would be just the thing to keep in your car/truck or at home, and the Xenon bulb is adequate enough when you need a powerful burst of light, but for daily carry the Inova is the way to go. The only concern about the X5T is that the Lithium batteries can be expensive. You can get a 2 pack of Energizer E2 3 volt Lithium batteries at Walmart for about $10.00, but you can find them much cheaper online. I don't have a headband for the X5T, but I think it should fit in something like a Nite-Ize headband. The X5T does comes with a nylon sheath for the belt, but I replaced it with a better quality one.

yeah that nite-ize is exactly what im talking about. anyway thanks again been helpful, i might just buy both :).

You got that right, MUCH cheaper online, Now surefire sells boxes of 12 batterys for 15 dollars thats 1.25 a piece. I just recieved my shipment of 36 batterys and shipping and all they came out to 1.40 a piece. I cant believe these local stores sell these batterys at such high prices, I went by radio shack the other day and they wanted eight dollars for 1 lithium and it was an off brand too.
