Hand Warmer

I bought one for the same thing a few years back. Just make sure its going good before you put it in bag. They do work fairly well but if it runs out of fluid when your out in your stand it is difficult to refill. It is easier to use the disposable ones but they don't last as long. So I just fill it up once and carry a few disposable ones in case it runs out on me.

I think I read somewhere that they come in two sizes / time durations. Once you light them they run until you exhaust the fuel so if you are only out for an hour and have an eight hour supply of fuel they stop when that fuel is exhausted, For that reason I am going to look around for an electronic hand warmer that you ran charge and then turn on and off as needed.

I've tried quite a few, and at the end of it all I just buy a case of the disposal ones off the big river site for $25 once a year and keep it by the front door. Tuck a half dozen in the car and a few in the bag and you're always covered.

Ditto on the convenience and ease of use with disposable hand warmers. Our experience with extreme cold weather (0° to -50°f) and hand warmers shows that putting the hand warmers against the inside of the wrists does a great job of warming from within. Just having warmers in your pockets or at the ends of your gloves/mittens may feel good and warm the skin, but it doesn’t get rid of that “chilled to the bone” feeling. Against the wrist you warm the supply blood in the arteries. In the pocket or mittens, you are affecting the much smaller capillaries.
