Hello guys,

What do you think about the handguard on SEAL knives (newer versions with more guard support) - is it really safe for heavy work and knife usage, I mean that working hand never slides towards the cutting edge.

I am asking this question because since the first SEAL 2000 knife there were really many complaints that SEALs have dangerous handles so is it true in reality?

I have both re-designed SEAL Team and SEAL Pup Elite and I must say that their handles have really nice grip and control.

I believe they are very safe, at least on the Taiwan made ones. I've owned and handled the earlier Seki made Seal Pup and Seal 2000 and did not experience problems with forward egressing on the handles. But the handles on the newer models are a lot better by far, at least in my opinion. If I do work which can result in handle slippage, I often tie a tightly fit lanyard around my wrist, then it won't be a problem:)

I've never had a problem with any SOG that had a guard. IMO They are good to go!! :)
