Handle and Scale Changes

Does anyone have experience with the new ergonomic handles or quilted micarta scales recently introduced? How do they compare to the "old" style? Was there anything wrong with the "old" style?

I jst bought a new Mean Streets. I have an old style Battle Mistress. The new handles really are big improvement. They feel great. I have yet to give it a real work out, but my impressions so far are very positive.
