Hello, future newbie here and wanted to ask about handle color options. Specifically solid orange g10, will it possibly be an option on field knife, edc, or LC chopper ? Also is there optional liner colors that can be mixed with handle options ?
Thank you, any info is greatly appreciated :-)

Hey everybody what are your favorite colors and what colors would you like to see ?????

I'm waiting for Nathan to let us use supplied handle material, and then I will start to go nuts. I have more than one favorite.

When in doubt, black, black or black. Always resells well and looks great.

Hmmm, complex question. Nathan announces available scale materials on his sale threads. Which doesn't help you much, since they sell out before you can read a sentence out of the post. Also, some offered materials might have limited availability and not actually be an option if someone ahead of you claimed the last of it. He has been consistently offering black canvas Micarta, tan canvas Micarta, and Terotuf on Light Choppers, and those and some G10 options on field knives (http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/1407815-Current-model-info-for-the-Field-Knife) over the past few months. Occasionally there have been other options in very limited amounts. I haven't seen solid orange on a CPK; only orange and black. Haven't seen any liners. But who knows. Maybe I just haven't seen it. You gotta ask Nathan what he's willing to do.

Hope that helps.

My favorite scale material is canvas Micarta and with the finish on these knives tan canvas is my favorite.

We will have black micarta and natural micarta. In G10, we have solid black, solid OD green, and solid Forest green. We also have some brown and black, OD green and black, and at least 1 more orange and black.

Any blue G10 planned?

Here is a sneak peek of the scales from my tablet. Nathan will have better pictures (hopefully) tomorrow.

colors left to right top row: toxic green and black; natural micarta; black micarta; solid black (G10)
bottom row: Brown and black; OD Green and black; solid OD Green; solid Forest green

not pictured is the orange and black I mentioned. There is only one of those...

Thanks Jo,

That forest green reminds me of the Teal I have seen before. I bet my wife would like that one....

I really like iit. I would describe it sort of like a blue spruce type of color. It is rich dark green with just a hint of blue.

Sounds interesting, my wife had a teal one with white liners, but I will wait to see pics after it's buffed with better lighting. Still very awesome.

Hope this hasn't been asked an answered yet. Hate looking like a fool!

What's the process for the buffed micarta handles? Are they coated and then polished? Just sanded smother? They don't seem to absorb water like non buffed micarta. Will the buffing wear off over time?

Just curiosity!

They are not sanded. They are buffed on a cotton wheel with buffing compound.
