I've never held a bushboot or EDC II from the Fiddleback Forge. Could I get some options from you fine folks concerning the handle shape and comfort of these two knives?

Thank you in advance.

I really like both of the handles. The bushboot geometry is nice in that the blade axis and handle axis make an angle of about 170 degrees which I really like. (I think most of the other knives are more at 180 degrees.)

The EDC II is more rounded, but still has that fiddleback feel.

Either way, you'll be happy.

I have both and find both generally comfortable. I love the look and feel of the bush boot, however, due to my hand size and the curve of the bush boot handle it ends up more as a 3.5 finger grip for me where the EDC is more of a full 4 finger grip. I think because of this, I use the EDC more often. Of course, the stubby muk is right around 3 fingers and I use it more than either so maybe it is more the rounded handle shape.

Except for the part about the Stubbymuk, as I don't own one, these are my thoughts exactly. I'd also add that due to these reasons the EDCII offers me more grip options as well.

I'm quite partial to the Bushboot. Enough knife to do real work and enough pointy steel to deter. The EDC is just easygoing. I use one now with an Osage handle and love it. Nothing agressive about it, but definitely a workhorse.

I've never held an EDC but I own a Bushboot and love it. I like the size and I love the look of the Bushboot and as Andy has stated it has a sexy, barfight kind of appeal. However to me the Bushboot has the least comfortable handle of any FB that I have held. Not uncomfortable, just the least comfortable. Although i have medium hands, I tend to prefer taller and fatter handles.

Not sure if this is an EDC or EDCII. It's pre-bullseye, so I'm thinking EDC. Here's a comparison shot.

Pictures. Great idea. I threw in the stubby muk just because I had it on me. If you look at the curve on the bushboot, you can see that the underside of the handle ends a bit earlier than on the EDC thus causing the 3.5 finger grip I referenced earlier. It is still comfortable, I just think that partial finger throws me off and that is why I don't pick it up a much as all of my other FBs. I have kind of chunky hands so it may not be an issue for many. I wonder if there has ever been any thought given to a bushboot II, maybe just slightly bigger, a little longer in the handle and blade?

I see what you mean, appreciate the super picture, Wilsonhome!!

Check out the Fighter and see if it fits your bushboot II idea. If I remember right it has like a 5.5" handle and 6" blade. Might be more of a bushboot III. :)

Oh my. How have I not seen that. Thanks!

I try to mostly stay below 5.5 in blade due to Texas law but I'm going to pick one of those up at some point anyway. It looks awesome.

*****looks around*****

Friday would be a good choice

Excellent. My sharking has been weak lately, but I am still trying to stay in the game. ;)

I am lucky enough to own a fighter and I was blown away once I held it. I bought it thinking it was more of a novelty, but that knife will do work and has now moved to my primary woods knife. The handle shape is perfect and the knife is beefy enough to chop while remaining nimble enough for fine work. It's pointy and will clean keeper sized fish. I don't hunt but imagine it could skin if it had to, but probably wouldn't be be best choice. The swedge is blunt enough not to completely destroy your baton so it can handle some fire prep. This knife is one to check out if you have the means. It's big, but that's how I roll[emoji41]

I headed into this Friday planning to snag one but that Gaucho caught my eye. It is definitely on the list.
