I learned a neat trick. When your are doing the final sanding on a wood handle try using your sealer instead of water for the wet sanding as your final finish. This actually takes the microfine wood powder and seals the wood pours at the same time. Be sure to first coat the piece untill it no longer absorbs any more sealer let it dry, then sand.
